UJET is an AI-Powered Cloud Contact Center Platform for enterprises worldwide, powering customer experience applications and intelligent routing across voice, chat, email, WhatsApp, SMS, and other customer interaction channels. In 2024, UJET was named Google Cloud Partner of the Year.

The Challenge

With strong product traction and a growing base of enterprise customers, UJET was facing a challenge common to many high-growth tech companies: scaling its team, processes, and product without compromising quality.

Operating near full capacity and facing ambitious delivery timelines, the company needed a quality-driven partner that could integrate quickly and take ownership from the outset. With teams spread across the US and South Korea, a European Tech Hub in Portugal became the answer.

From the first week, our team operated as a natural extension of UJET’s product, design, and engineering teams from Portugal. For UJET’s leadership, the cultural fit was immediate: the people felt like part of the same company, building relationships with counterparts across the world.

The Tech Hub wasn’t assembled to fill capacity. Every engineer and designer went through a demanding selection process, matched to UJET’s technical complexity and standards. As the team grew, so did the support around it: from introductions to Porto’s local tech community to helping UJET establish its own permanent operations in the city.

Shaping how teams work

We brought strong opinions that helped both sides hash out better ways of working. Estimation and planning evolved collaboratively and were rolled out across the wider engineering organisation.

A year ago, UJET was doing monthly releases with a two-week regression cycle, and work would often take six to nine months to get scheduled. Today, we ship twice a week, with code reaching production in less than a week.

On the design side, we delivered a design system that replaced an experience that had stopped keeping pace with the platform’s complexity, built on deep research into the business, competitors, and real customer needs. Across both disciplines, we adopted AI-native processes early to increase velocity while ensuring quality.
